Handheld Stages
Here are a list of previously revealed stages that are found on the handheld and console versions.
Pil’Illo Island
Pil’illo Island first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. The stage alternates to various locales on the island but then enters the Dream World where it it exhibits various properties that cannot be found anywhere else in the game.

Forest Course
A pleasant golf course set from Mario Golf: World Tour/ This nice course is set among some Mushroom Kingdom pines and has a relaxed atmosphere to it. Just be careful of flying golf balls that coming shooting past players. As well, a hole in one may bless players with added bonuses.
Lorule Castle
Taken from Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Lorule Castle is the opposite of Hyrule Castle which shows. It contains various obstacles and hazardous such as purple vortexes. As well, a powerful sorceress may in fact show her head…
Steel Diver
This stage is taken from the game of the same name, “Steel Diver”. Players do battle on submarines that glide through various location throughout the ocean. But don’t worry, the water won’t drown players though the occasional enemy submarine may try to sink the sub you are standing on.

Lollipop Land
Straight from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Lollipop Land features gorgeous decors and dazzling colors set in mountains of sweets and forests of lollipops. This is a side scrolling stage so it’s best to keep up with the stage lest you go off the blast zones.
Swapnote
Swapnote is a visual messaging software for the Nintendo 3DS and the spiritual successor of Pictochat. Swapnote acts much like in Pictochat but with some added differences. First, appearing in the forefront is our friendly bespectacled Mii that writes messages onto Swapnote. The stage is set up on the orange and green platform and she will write messages onto the Swapnote board. Messages are not hazardous and does not interfere with the battle but the images she draws such as people or objects can interfere with players. In the second image, text such as “POP OUT” will actually pop out and can damage players. So I guess saying that the messages does not hurt players was a lie. As well, she will write encouraging messages to players which may give them a stat boost
Phendrana Drifts
With the handheld release of the Metroid Prime series, Phendrana Drifts makes its appearance on the handheld version. It is an icy and cold portion of the planet, Tallon IV. It is certainly beautiful and the music goes hauntingly well with it. The entire world is a frozen monolith but freezing to death should be the least of your worries as there will be players wanting to smash you back to the Ice Age.
Castle Break-In
This stage is based off the final level in New Yoshi(s Island for the Nintendo 3DS. The battle is fought on a castle wall while overlooking a dreadful night sky. Below magma pulsates below the walls but players don’t have to worry about that In the distance, a magical burst of evilness erupts and Baby Bowser emerges and grows to a massive size and slowly makes his way to the main stage. He will begin throwing fireballs and rocks from a far. Players can halt and push back his advance by knocking back said fireballs and rocks. Once he reaches, he will begin attacking by slashing and punching the stage. Players can attack his head to push him back or perform a powerful attack to send him to the beginning.
DK Island
The entire stage is Donkey Kong island. The stage consists primarily of a floating platform that transports players around key areas of the island including a beach that bombards players with cannon balls, a jungle area, and a mine cart area. In total, there are 6 areas that the stage will transport players to. Upon arriving, it will set them down and the ground will become the stage.
Reaper Fortress
A stage from Kid Icarus Uprising. The Reaper Fortress is a dark and gloomy area that is fought on a stage made out of rock and bone. The s\background of the stage first appears dark until a sudden eerie light erupts forth and shows Reapers in the background; watching the fight. Behind the platform is the Great Reaper who will begin to savagely strike at players who are on the stage. Ay times, it will break apart bits of the stage which will send ti crumbling to the bottom of the stage. After a while, she vanishes and the stage becomes dark again in the background.
Hoenn Skies
The stage consists of a floating platform that will travel the skies of Hoenn, allowing players to view the island is all of its entirely. At times, the stage will descend down onto a particular area such as Mt. Chimney. In addition, the stage will sometimes enter a Mirage Spot where a random Legendary Pokemon will appear. Examples include Moltres, Zekrom, Diagla, and Thundurus.
Elemental Lighthouse
Hailing from the universe of Golden Sun, the Elemental Lighthouse is set within a high pinnacle. As the match goes on, the lighthouse will change dramatically throughout the time. It appears at first dead without any sort of power but, within the gap between the stage, a massive whirling sphere will appear and change the lighthouse into one of the four: Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Venus.
- Jupiter: The sphere is purple and will cause dark clouds to form and high winds will blow across the surface.
- Mercury: The sphere is blue and will cause rain to pelt the stage and cause flooding.
- Mars: The sphere is red and will cause fires to blaze on the stage.
- Venus: The sphere is yellow and will cause the tower to shake violently.
Kingdom of Caldisa
Kingdom of Caldisla hails from the Bravely Default series. This stage is fairly calm without any apparent hazards though at times, may descend onto the stage and will run around in the background as well as civilians. The stage is centered on a road that has a stairs to the far left and a houses where players can jump onto the roof tops. Behind is further view of the Caldisla Castle as well as Corsairs Bay. The stage also features a day and night cycle though the only change is the visuals.
Fossil Stadium
A stage that hauls from the Fossil Fighter universe. This stage features a central platform in the midst of an arena. At times during the stage, Vivosaurs or creatures brought back to life from Fossils, will rage on the stage; dealing damage to players. Here are a list of Vivosaurs that will appear on this stage:
- Aeros: Will deliver a powerful blast of air and will bite anyone who gets close.
- Toba: Will attack anyone with its large tail as well as toss large pearls forward.
- Tsintao: Will charge forth and strike anyone close by with its horn.
- Dimetro: Will bite anyone who comes close and deliver powerful fire damage.
- Tricera: Will charge forward and slam its horns into players nearby.
- Igno: Rare Vivosaur. It will appear and deliver a volcanic attack that deals heavy fire damage.
- Frigi: Rare Vivosaur. Appears and stomps on the ground; causing anyone to become frozen.
- Zongazonga: Rare Vivosaur. It will begin to glow purple and anyone caught in it’s aura is a immediate KO.
Hailing from the F-Zero franchise, Fire Field changes drastically throughout the stage. Fighters play on the F-Zero racers as they blast through this pyroclastic race track. However, in the middle of the stage, it begins to switch to the Fire Field found in F-Zero GX 3DS. The stage becomes much more dangerous with lava plumes and fire blasting about while players must fight against opponents.
Savvy Studio
Hailing from the Style Savvy series on the Nintendo 3DS. Players fight on a floating runway stage while models from the Trendsetter games appear in the background. Occasionally, they will ask some advice on what to wear and bubbles with an article of clothing will appear floating in the air. Touching these clothes will magically apply it to the model in the background. Clothes can be replaced with other clothes as well. When the Style Competition starts, whoever applied the best clothing will get a huge stat boost for a limited time. Get savvy!
Muramasa Castle Retro
Pulling straight from “Mysterious Castle Muramasa”, the stage first starts off on the Start screen with players fighting on the backdrop of the castle. After some time, the stage transitions to various levels found within the game. There aren’t much stage hazards in this stage.
3D Land 2
Hailing from Super Mario 3D Land, this stage is centered on not falling through the flip-tops. It is important to see which color they turn to before jumping or you will fall to your death. This is a side scrolling stage that will periodically pause in certain sections.
